Each resort is housed on a separate island by itself offers a unique blend of modern luxury and isolated serenity.

With no exception, all resorts have soft sandy beaches, translucent clear lagoons enclosed by house reefs inhabited by a variety of marine flora and fauna and everything else you would expect on a tropical holiday within a few minute’s walking distance the most.

However, each resort island has its individual charm, character and ambience that can best be appreciated through personal experience.

When you land at Malé International Airport in the Maldives, you have several options for reaching your resort destination. Your choice largely depends on the distance of your resort from the airport and may include speedboat, seaplane, or domestic flight.

Speedboat: If your resort is relatively close to Malé, a speedboat transfer is common. Your resort typically arranges this transfer for you, providing a swift journey directly to your destination.

Seaplane:

For resorts situated in further atolls, a seaplane transfer is a breathtaking way to reach your accommodation.

Ensure you arrange your seaplane transfer in advance, often through the resort.

Domestic Flight:

Some resorts may require a short domestic flight from Malé to another local airport, followed by a boat ride to the resort.

Tip

Transfer fees are not always included in resort bookings, so check with your resort about transfer arrangements and costs to avoid any surprises upon arrival.

November to April: Optimal weather with the least rain.

May to October: Wet season, where you might encounter some rain but can enjoy better deals on accommodation.

To maximize your experience in the Maldives, consider visiting during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During this period, you’ll enjoy sunny days and warm temperatures, ideal for beach activities and exploring the islands.

From November through April, the weather is typically at its best, with average high temperatures in the mid- to upper 80s (°F). It’s also the time when precipitation is lowest, especially from January through March.

Holiday seasons, particularly around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, see higher prices and minimum stay requirements at many resorts.

Planning your trip either before or after these peak times could save you money and offer a more relaxed atmosphere.

To experience the Maldives without the likelihood of afternoon showers, the best part of the dry season is from January through April.

Tip: Even in the dry season, brief rain showers can occur, so packing a light raincoat is advisable.
